Cuba – the Tricoloured Heron

This bird isn’t a great sighting if you live in the gulf states of the US, Mexico, the Caribbean or the northern part of South America.

If you come from Ravenna, Italy however and all you’ve ever seen are the millions and zillions of large Grey Herons, this tall dark stranger is an unexpected surprise during a walk on the beach.

Here are the two best photos of our sighting (yes, I took more) of an Egretta tricolor, in all it’s tri-colours.
